Crude Noise #4: Recovery Issue

This July 2004 issue by Meredith Stern is filled with hand-written essays, etchings, old type-writer fonts, drawings, comics and collage. There is a lot of rich family history, plus stories about punk sensibilities, art, pets, life and death.

An excerpt:
“You know you’re taking things too seriously when you find yourself complaining about people signing their letters ‘love’ and ‘XO’ when you know they don’t really want to hug & kiss you. I always sign my letters ‘take care’ ‘cuz I want my friends to take care of themselves, ‘cuz I want to learn how to take care of myself & not feel guilty, not have this asshole voice in the back of my head going on about wasted time.”
