Faculty Resources

Requesting books, DVDs or periodicals
The library heartily encourages faculty members to request material for the library to purchase. We will order materials in support of curriculum, or items that would benefit the library’s collection. If you need specific items for a class, be sure to request them at least a month in advance of need.

To request material, fill out the Online Request Form.
Email Dan McClure (dmcclure@pnca.edu) with any questions.

Faculty who wish to order multiple copies of a book for student purchase, should order through the PSU bookstore, Looking Glass Books, or some other vendor.

Course Reserves
Faculty are welcome to build up reserve reading shelves for any course. Bring books, DVDs, or other materials, to the library and staff will create a reserve shelf for you behind the circulation desk. Contact the access services staff, Serenity, Joan, and Sara for any questions or concerns (librarycirc@pnca.edu).

Digital Course Readings
The photocopiers in the mail room are available for faculty use and can make PDFs quickly. PNCA offers regular training sessions for all staff and faculty to learn how to efficiently use the copiers. Contact Cassandra Chang in Registration if you have any questions (cchang@pnca.edu).

The library will digitize course readings, on request. Please allow 10 days processing time. Library staff will provide you with PDFs of the articles. You may then post them on your password protected Homeroom page.

Please email Serenity Ibsen for requests (sibsen@pnca.edu).

Course Reading Packets
If you would like paper copies of your readings to be held on your reserve shelf, provide up to 3 copies of articles to be bound as course readings. The library will label and bind them. Each course pack must be accompanied by

  • Course Syllabus
  • Course Readings List/Schedule
  • Faculty Name
  • Each article must have complete citations.
